What is a Strip and Retile?

If your old roof has badly depreciated over time due to weather or looking tired and old, then TD Roofing can strip away the current roof tiles, replace the old felt with new roofing felt and fit new battens before re-fixing the original tiles. We can then replace any damaged tiles and re-bed the hip and ridge tiles for you. This method will give any old roof a new look without the expense of new tiles.

A complete re-roof involves stripping off the old roof tiles/ covering and all the old battens and felt. TD Roofing will then replace and fit a new vapour permeable underlay, new roof battens and new roof tiles. Nowadays, there is a massive variety of roof tile styles and colours to choose from. All lead work will be examined and if needed, would be replaced. Normally at this point, customers have an opportunity to reinsulate the loft as the roof is off and there is easy access.
